Audit and Assurance Standards Board Meeting 7 June 2023

The New Zealand Assurance Standards Board held its meeting on 7 June 2023.

Key items included:

  • GHG assurance standard – the Board considered the key changes to the exposure draft in response to feedback received. The Board agreed to hold a special meeting on 12 July 2023 to approve the standard.
  • Approval of NZ AS 1 (Revised) The Audit of Service Performance Information, and the
  • Revocation of NZ AS 1 The Audit of Service Performance Information. This is expected to be issued in July.
  • Approval of Amendments to PES 1 – Technology-related revisions.
  • Approval of the commencement date of Amendments to PES 1 – Revisions to the Definition of Engagement Team and Group Audits.
  • Approval of the submission in response to the IESBA Strategy and workplan 2024-2027.
